AYT #83: Looking Elsewhere For Cinematic Pleasures

hero_ComputerChess-2013-1This week, Joe and Erik can’t find much to care about in terms of mainstream film releases, so they instead look at two smaller films well worth checking out, Computer Chess and Drinking Buddies. One other topic is hit: Joe’s experience at AFI Fest.

  1. Is this podcast going to come back? I actually started listening to it a few months ago and it’s really turned in to one of my favorite podcasts. You guys got me to check out Ben Wheatley (now the #1 director I’m interested in), and you’re about the only people who really appreciated Only God Forgives and Simon Killer. Definitely, I see eye-to-eye with you on most things we love and hate about the state of cinema. I actually added Erik on Facebook to get updates, assuming it was a professional profile. I guess it was not.

I just noticed hasn’t been a new episode in well over a month on here. Have you gone on hiatus, moved to another podcast, or are you just not recording anymore?

  2. Best podcast ever. I miss this show too! I’m looking forward to hearing your top ten lists of 2013. I gotta say, there’s a couple on my list I wouldn’t have even heard about if it weren’t for your PIFF coverage. The last couple episodes were great, keep it up guys!
